This years pantomime horse race was much quieter, mainly due to the inacurate weather forcast!
We still had a lot of fun and manged to raise a fair amount for St Catherines. Money is still coming in but I will have a total soon........

ST CATHERINES HOSPICE & DEVON AIR AMBULANCE
This year Richard Palmer (landlord of The Rugglestone Inn) and Peter Druett (a Rugglestone local) are planning a sponsored tandem ride from their pub in Widecombe-in-the-moor, Devon to ours - a distance of 220 miles.
The money raised will be split equally between St Catherines Hospice and the Devon Air Ambulance.
We have found two wonderful stop-overs for our tandem, the first will be the Pen Mill Hotel & Restaurant in Somerset www.penmillhotel.co.uk and the second is The White Hart Inn in Stockbridge www.fullershotels.com/rte.asp?id=91
Both these places have kindly donated rooms for our intrepid adventurers for which we are very grateful, so should you be in the area please support them!
We were lucky enough to find a new training aid for our intrepid adventurers.........A tandem space hopper! There is now no doubt in my mind that these two will make it on their epic journey from Dartmoor to Sussex, the only slight doubt is the type of tandem they choose to use!

CHARITY UPDATE!
When I was in Devon at the end of January I was astounded to hear(and see) that these two had given up the drink until after their ride!
I returned at the begining of March to deliver some race programmes and am happy to announce that things are decidedly back to normal!
They have, however, been training hard and are to be joined by Gordie and Martin on a second tandem.
We would very much welcome your sponsorship for these two, either in the form of a monetry donation or an item or service we could auction in our grand auction to be held on Saturday 9th April at The Royal Oak.

Almost final update!
The boys made it from Devon, thank you to the Pen Mill and the White Hart for looking after them so well.
Sorry the local t.v. let us down, there must have been something more newsworthy last Friday at 5.00pm, if anyone knows what it was please let me know!
Saturday was a great day, loads of people, lots of fun. I am sorry for those of you who got a little grumpy waiting at the bar, I did underestimate the number of people who turned up, my fault entirely not the kind people who offered to help out for nothing for a couple of hours and ended up being there all day!
We are still collecting money in at the moment but as soon as I have a total I will let you know.
